Umberto Eco’s ‘The Name of the Rose’ lands distribution deals

The Name of the Rose‘Italy’s 11 Marzo Film and Palomar, together with TMG in Germany, is rebooting Umberto Eco’s 1980 medieval crime drama The Name of the Rose as an eight-part series starring John Turturro and Rupert Everett.

TMG has landed new agreements with a range of distributors for the event series The Name of the Rose, based on Umberto Eco’s worldwide bestseller.

Sky will distribute the program in German-speaking Europe, while other presales include Orange in France, YLE in Finland, NRK in Norway and DRtv in Denmark. The series is produced by 11 Marzo Film, Palomar and Tele München Group in association with RAI Fiction.
