NOS4A2 by Joe Hill has been commissioned as a series by US cable channel AMC.
NOS4A2 introduced the world to Victoria “Vic” McQueen, blessed with a gift for finding lost things that also happens to be a curse for her slowly-deteriorating mind. She crosses path with another gifted type, Charlie Manx, who unlike her uses his own powers to seed dread and further his own ends. He abducts children in his 1938 Rolls Royce – the title is his number plate – and drains his passengers’ souls to make him stay young. When he kidnaps Vic’s son, he puts them on a collision course and forces her to risk breaching his nightmare lair.
With Hill attached to oversee things as an executive producer, Fear The Walking Dead and Hell On Wheels veteran Jami O’Brien is handling the show-running chores. AMC optioned the book back in 2015 and last year set up a writers room run by O’Brien to jump-start the show and get it headed towards series.
AMC has ordered a 10-episode first season that is due to premiere next year in the US, with AMC Studios handling international distribution.
