Ms Marvel Coming to the MCU

Marvel Studiois launching first female-led feature with next year’s Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson. Marvel Studios though President Kevin Feige has hinted that Carol Danvers may not be the only Marvel coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as he recently confirmed plans are in the works for none other than Ms. Marvel aka Kamala Khan.

The current incarnation of Ms Marvel can be credited to G. Willow Wilson, Sana Amanat, and Adrian Alphona. She has been a revolutionary and VERY successful incarnation of the traditionally buxom blonde character, as a Muslin-American teenager.

In an interview with BBC, Kevin Feige was asked about the potential for the Muslim- American superhero, Ms. Marvel, to appear in the MCU. He didn’t offer up any details as to when and how she’d appear, he confirmed that Ms. Marvel’s live-action debut is “in the works.”

In the interview, Feige explains that the studio is currently working on Captain Marvel, which is currently filming in California and that plans to introduce Kamala are underway after Carol’s debut. “Captain Marvel‘s shooting right now with Brie Larson,” he said. “Ms. Marvel, which is another character in the comic books, the Muslim hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel, is definitely sort of in the works. We have plans for that once we introduce Captain Marvel.”

All we can say is YES! We can only hope with the current Phase ending, the next MCU phase will make room to include the younger more diverse Marvel characters and let them take center stage. Sorry but not sorry Cap and Iron Man, make for room for Younger Avengers (Gillen/McKelvie Incarnation), Ms. Marvel, and Squirrel Girl!
