‘FX is in negotiations with two-time Academy Award winning actress, Jodie Foster, to lead their adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan’s comic series, Y: The Last Man.
Foster, who is best known for her films such as Silence of the Lambs, The Accused and Contact, most recently worked on Drew Pearce’s recently released Hotel Artemis. She is in talks for the role of Jennifer Brown, the mother of the series’ main character Yorick “Y” Brown. The series is set to follow escape artist Yorick Brown, the last surviving human with a Y chromosome of a mysterious plague, and his Capuchinmonkey, Ampersand, set out to learn what might have wiped out the world’s male chromosomes. The series has been in development at FX since 2015 and a pilot was officially ordered in April of this year. The pilot is set to be directed by Melina Matsoukas and is tentatively set to begin production in late-July. Foster is repped by ICM Partners who declined to comment on her involvement.’
