‘Netflix has boarded global rights to rom-com Let It Snow from Planet Of The Apes franchise producer Dylan Clark.
Set to go into production in early 2019, the film marks the feature debut of UK filmmaker Luke Snellin, director on BBC TV series Wanderlust and The A Word. The film is based on the book by YA bestsellers Maureen Johnson, Lauren Myracle, and John Green.
John Green’s novels also include Looking For Alaska and Paper Towns. His novel The Fault In Our Stars was adapted into a global box office smash for Fox. Johnson is the author of 13 Little Blue Envelopes and Devilish; Myracle has penned teen books such as Shine and Kissing Kate.
In Let It Snow, when a once-in-century snowstorm hits a small town on Christmas Eve, several high school seniors discover unexpected opportunities as well as complications that test their friendships, love lives, and aspirations for the future.
Producers are Clark (for his Dylan Clark Productions banner), whose Sandra Bullock starrer Bird Box is released on Netflix this month, and Alexa Faigen. Exec producer is Beau Bauman, co-producer of Dwayne Johnson comedy Central Intelligence and exec producer on Netflix’s upcoming comedy series The Umbrella Academy.’
