Timothy Hutton will play the role of Leo Steinem, Gloria’s father. Julianne Moore plays the older Steinem, while Vikander will play the younger version of the feminist icon (ages 20-40).

The movie, based on Steinem’s memoir, follows her journey to become a crusader for equal rights and her groundbreaking work as a journalist and campaigner. Better Midler also stars as activist, lawyer and politician Bella Abzug, who along with fellow feminists such as Steinem, Shirley Chisholm and Betty Friedan founded the National Women’s Political Caucus. She went on to become a U.S. Representative. Janelle Monae also stars as Dorothy Pitman Hughes.

Hutton can currently be seen in Netflix’s acclaimed series The Haunting Of Hill House, which is a re-imagining of Shirley Jackson’s classic 1959 novel. He received an Emmy Nomination for his role on John Ridley’s critically-praised ABC series American Crime, and also currently stars in ABC’s How to Get Away With Murder opposite Viola Davis. Additionally, Hutton can be seen in the Amazon series Jack Ryan, opposite John Krasinski, as well the studio’s Plan B feature Beautiful Boy with Steve Carell. Hutton also starred in last year’s Ridley Scott feature All The Money In The World. Hutton is repped by WME, Untitled Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman.

FilmNation is repping foreign sales on The Glorias. Taymor wrote the script with playwright Sarah Ruhl. Page Fifty-Four Pictures’ Alex Saks is producing with Taymor and Lynn Hendee. Steinem is executive producing alongside Amy Richards. Principal photography is currently underway in Savannah, Georgia.’
